Good morning. Three minutes after 10 is the time. I hope I find you well. Um, this often happens. If you, if you, I have no reason why you should be aware of this at all. But I have just had a week off. I had a splendid time, largely in Dublin, actually, in the old country. And sometimes when I take a bit of time off, I mention this pretty much every time I return from a, from a break. I look at things slightly differently.

You spend your life with your face pressed so closely to the screen that sometimes you lose sight of what the pixels actually combine to create.

You take a few steps back.

You're not spending every waking hour wondering what you're going to talk about on tomorrow's radio show.

And you start seeing things slightly differently.

And it may seem strange to you in the first instance that I am looking at two or three stories this morning from a similar perspective.

The likely discovery of Nicola Bully's body in that river in Lancashire

focuses the mind on tragedy and the fragility, of course, of existence,

the power of love and the horror for her family. But I don't know how much attention you've paid to some of the remarkable

behaviour unfolding on the fringes of that tragedy, unfolding on the fringes of that story.

I'll tell you more in a moment. And then I wonder whether

you're familiar with the phenomenon of 15-minute cities, which are entirely creditable attempts

by councils to minimize the amount of driving that we do by creating communities in which everything

is within walking distance. If you live in a city or a town relatively central, you probably struggle to understand the

controversy here. The idea of having everything within a 15-minute walk of your front door

is an unalloyed good idea. And if they introduce penalties to prevent us from making unnecessary car journeys,

then that will improve the quality of the air that we breathe.

But it has become a bet noir.

It's become a new rallying point for some of the strangest people ever
