I mean I'm in a graduate program technically I don't show up very much these days but

I am a PhD student.

No, I'm technically writing my dissertation.

It's coming along.

And what's your dissertation on? I thought about DSA.

It's about the internal politics of DSA.

That should be fascinating, but it's very ill-formed right now.

DSA or your dissertation?

My dissertation. My dissertation is making very slow progress.

Is that a metaphor for the reformist nature of DSA?
