Welcome on to an episode that takes a lot of work to do and in the last couple of years we have both had additions to our family which have made it a little bit harder but I wanted to make sure that we

locked in and put in the time to do the defense episode not just defensive

player the year not just the NBA prescribed all defense which is position list this year.

We're going to do our best defenders by position

and we are going to do worst team all defense as well and just talk a lot more about just general

categories on defense as well some of the your best ISO defender your best guy getting over a screen, best room protector, guys who have improved,

guys who have fallen off, guys who are better or worse than you might think.

So a lot of interesting stuff here. I last really dove into this

when I wrote an article for the athletic back in 2018

and actually used to be able to write a little bit,

but it's gonna be fun to do that now for the podcast.

So Danny, anything that you wanted to say before we begin here?

We are, for most of this conversation,

we are going to use the positional definitions that we used for position

rankings that seems appropriate especially because defensive role is an

important component in those delineations when they happen that said we will make some discussion of players in the position that they're actually playing this year if that deviates a little bit

So the most common of that are players we have at Small Forward who play Power Forward right now just because

Small Forward is a harder position to play.

In those cases, I don't have too many of those guys who are going to be all defense or

no defense, but in the cases where that comes up and part of the fun of this is

appreciating the differences in how player and how that can work I mean you could bring this up at the
