and probably the only time that I'll be watching this one.

It's a feel-good movie, really.

It destroyed me.

Well, like an hour into the movie you just you kind of

want to die and that feeling doesn't really go away until the end of the movie and

I can't say it was an enjoyable experience okay I don't think it was

supposed to no it's not supposed to be and I don't know where my discomfort with the

material begins and where the art of the movie ends because it seems like

that this is a fairly controversial film among critical circles that you've got a lot of people I mean obviously I think it's

54 on the AFI top 100 it won an Oscar for Best Picture in the year it came out

some of that I feel like is as a direct result of the it being kind of among the first critical views of Vietnam.

The movie felt like I would love to see like a two hour 20 minute cut of this film because there's just a lot of stuff that doesn't go anywhere

What would you take out specifically do you have any because I have some things in mind that I felt were

unnecessary or didn't go anywhere I think you can trim stuff it's stuff like you

know there's the thing that hangs that you can hang your hat on this movie is the performances like Robert
