This time it's going to be a history of violence, which is a David Cronenberg film that I had not seen before.

I think you had seen it when it came out?

Yeah, I saw what it came out? Yeah, I saw it when it came out. Okay. So yeah, I hadn't seen a lot of adult movies by that time

and is one of the first kind of like as I was coming out of you know my religious imposition of seeing

rated our movies yeah and I remember and a lot of contemporary views talking about how shocking the violence was in this movie I found that when I re-watched it

It's fairly tame like I'm the violence yeah, I know, I mean, it's extreme. It's extreme. It's extreme, but I feel like that over the last 10 years, you know, I'm just getting slowly desensitized to graphic cinematic violence.

Sure, I can totally buy that.

What did you think ultimately about this film, having seen it twice now.

You know, it's interesting that you've got this intense ultraviolet movie

that's also mostly works on the level of a quiet character study.

Yeah, yeah, I've really not seen anything like this before.
