Senate began this week. He's President Donald Trump's pick to head the Department of Health and Human Services.

Today, we're focusing on one of the practices he's called out, one that's long been considered a major health achievement in this country, and that several of you have opinions about.

I live in Gainesville, Florida, and yes, I think we should keep fluoridating our water because

I moved to a taos on well water and never thought about the value of fluoride, but after having

children and them having a lot of cavities.

And when I grew up on fluoridated water, I had almost none.

Despite all the regular brushing habits, I now have an appreciation for fluoridated water.

And also the expense of all the cavities, It's literally cost us thousands of dollars.

The issue of fluoride in dentistry is very simple. You soak the teeth for a few moments in fluoride,

and then you spit out the incredibly toxic substance that it is. This seems like a simple issue.

Thank goodness for RFK Jr. But the issue isn't so simple.

Adding fluoride to tap water has been a common practice throughout most of the U.S. for almost 80 years.

Roughly 62 percent of the U.S. population receives fluoridated water. That's according to CDC data from

2022. But local communities in states like Florida, Kansas, New York, and Arkansas are reconsidering
