to the death of a Hollywood superstar Rock Hudson.

It was the mid-1980s and Rock Hudson was one of the first really high profile figures to die

as a result of complications caused by HIV AIDS.

The prevailing attitudes towards and knowledge of HIV AIDS and homosexuality

were very different then from those of today.

Ashley Byrne has been hearing from Rock Hudson's fellow

Hollywood star and friend Angie Dickinson. The film star Rock Hudson does have

AIDS. It was confirmed in Paris today.
