As we read the gospel records, we read eyewitness accounts of the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus.

In a sense, the gospels are just the beginning of Christ's work. The adventure continues in the

Book of Acts. In this study with

Scott Pauli, we consider the continuing work of Christ through the Holy Spirit, who works

through the apostles in the New Testament Church. Now, let's get in on the adventure.

People who read body language say that there are so many non-verbal cues given through a person's

posture and that type of thing, and I'm certain that's true. In ancient civilization, a person's

posture or should I say position revealed much about their authority,

about who they were, what they represented, very, very significant in Scripture.

Who takes the seat, what seat they take, where they stand, when they stand,

all these things are very revealing when you study the customs of Bible days.

Well, in Acts chapter number seven, at the death of Stephen,

there is a beautiful phrase repeated twice for emphasis that I think we must not miss.

In fact, I want to pause on the one phrase today.

Listen to it carefully. The Bible says in Acts 7, verse 55 about Stephen while he was dying. It says, but he being full of the Holy Ghost,

looked up steadfastly into heaven and saw the glory of God. And here it is, Jesus standing on the right hand of God and said behold I see the heavens

opened and the son of man standing on the right hand of God now the right hand is significant

because this is the place of access. This is the place of authority.

In fact, all through the scriptures, you see the son of my right hand. I looked on my right hand,

and there was none to save me. So the right hand was always symbolic, but I want to draw your attention, not to simply the

right hand, but to the fact that Jesus is standing.

This is the day Jesus stood up.
