Your belief system says don't dabble in it, and I understand that.

So I mean, that's, I was brought up Lutheran and that was kind of, you know, what, you know, it's like, does it exist?

Probably, but you're not supposed to touch it or dabble in it in terms of like capturing or trying to communicate, I think, is really what more so the point was that I remember from back then.

So tell me, you use the word hate.

And I think that hate can sometimes be a term that is very specifically used to different regions to describe something in the supernatural paranormal world.

What does haint mean to you where you come from?

Well, most of the people that in my culture, you know, and where I come from, to them, they didn't know much about demonic activities or anything like that.

Anything that happened, it was a haunt.

It was a ghost.

You know, it was a spook or a spirit, you know.

Sometimes they would make a differentiation between a spirit and a ghost, but they use the

word haint to describe any of it like that.

Mm-hmm.

And a great number of people to this day, you know, when I was growing up, people would

have big crop porches and the upper part, like the ceiling of a porch,

paint blue.

Paint blue.

Yep.

Or they paint their house, haint blue, because they had an underlying belief that spirits

could cross over water.

Yep.
