Summary

In this episode, Kyle describes how country music has dominated the news cycle for the summer of 2023 and how that has led to a rise in what he dubs “Country Music Theology”. How does Oliver Anthony, Morgan Wallen, and Jason Aldean’s music play into this? Does being from the South, voting Republican, and listening to country music make you “good enough” to get into heaven? Also, in the Quick Hitters segment, he discusses former President Donald Trump’s arrest and mugshot, Denis Prager’s claim that one form of child pornography is morally acceptable, the resurgence of COVID and mask mandates, the recent racially-motivated shooting in Jacksonville, FL, and the passing of Bob Barker. This is Undaunted Life, a man's podcast. I'm your host, Kyle Thompson. Let's get into it.

0:27.6

Because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that

0:31.1

God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes

0:35.2

and is justified and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved. That is Romans 10, 9 through

0:40.4

10. So guys, I've got two big announcements today. But before we get to those, I'm back.

0:47.1

Sort, like sort of kind of like I know I did, I'm back episode a little while back. But

0:51.3

I think I'm back back now. For those of you that are new to the show, I know we've got

0:55.6

a bunch of new listeners here recently. I had two vocal court surgeries this year. First

1:00.6

one was unsuccessful. Second one, we were hopeful. It looks like things have gone well on

1:05.6

the hardware portion of my recovery. And it's just been software work for the last several

1:10.7

months. Just trying to rebuild my voice, relearn how to talk to to phone eight to vocalize

1:16.8

to do all those different things. And shout out to Peter Keats with OU here in Oklahoma.

1:21.8

He was, you know, 20 year opera singer and, you know, performer and understands vocal

1:26.1

performance. But he's also speech language pathologist. And we think we've gotten ourselves

1:30.2

to a position where I can safely come back and do solo episodes. Because for the last

1:35.5

couple of months, I've done, you know, forging tables where I can just talk for a second.

1:39.3

And then there's three other guys where I can do an interview where it's me asking a

1:43.0

question for a minute or two and then them talking for three or four or five or ten minutes,

1:46.7

whatever. So I can get a lot of rest. But where I'm at right now is way better than

1:51.7

back on episode 468. So that was an episode called What If God Doesn't Heal Me. And that

1:56.9

was recorded right before my second surgery. And to be honest, my wife and I were having

2:01.4

discussions about, you know, what does life look like if I lose complete control? My voice
