Sergeant. In recent weeks Donald Trump has amplified the claim that the MAGA rioters who violently tried to overthrow

democracy are martyrs, victims, and hostages, as he has put it.

One of his central campaign promises is to pardon large numbers of them.

But who exactly is he talking about?

Well, an important new analysis for Justsecurity.org offers an answer to that question. It finds that a large

percentage of the inmates Trump sometimes refers to are ones who violently

attacked law enforcement officers. That's who Trump wants to pardon. This

revelation blows apart a lot of the Trump MAGA propaganda about January 6th and it

illustrates clearly that Trump is campaigning on what can only be termed a vow of a lawless second term.
