And hello my friends, it is good to be with you once again.

Carry green here, this is the morning mindset.

We are here to get our minds aligned with the truth of God for this day.

We are going to be looking at John chapter 8 verses 28 through 30.

So if you have the ability to get out your Bible or an app, please do so.

I would love for you to look at the passage as we go through it.

Now again, our context is one where Jesus is speaking with the religious leaders of

his day.

It was a group of guys known as Pharisees.

And they were very zealous about the letter of the law, the very rules and details of the

rules.

In fact, they were so zealous, they sometimes would make up rules on top of the rules to

keep people from breaking the rules.

If that makes sense, it's like they were building boundaries around the rules so that

people didn't even get close to breaking them.

And so Jesus was kind of going head to head with these guys right here because they are

pushing back against his claims of being the Messiah.

And so here in verse 28 of chapter 8 of the gospel of John, we come into another section

where Jesus is in the midst of confronting them about their unbelief.

And it says, Jesus said to them, when you have lifted up the son of man, then you will

know that I am he, and that I do nothing on my own authority, but speak just as the father

taught me.
