Summary

Just as there is a contrast between the law that Moses gave and the grace that Jesus brought, there is also a contrast between self-effort and rest. God only works on our behalf if we are resting; therefore, we must rightly divide what it means to be at rest on a spiritual level. Knowing the difference between working to get God to do something and having faith in what He has already done allows us to enter into the place of rest where He wants us to be, and to stay there. We are not made righteous in God’s eyes by our performance, but by our belief in Jesus Christ. We are the righteousness of God by faith, even when we sin, but many Christians do not understand this. We must move beyond the mindset that makes it difficult for us to believe that we could actually receive something from God without doing anything to deserve it. Stress and worry are signs that we are still in self-effort; the peace of mind from believing that we already have everything Jesus made available for us is the acid test that proves we are truly at rest.

0:25.2	We've been talking about the contrast, and today I want to teach on the contrast between
0:30.8	self-effort and rest. Self-effort and rest. You know, we're about to go into one of the most,
0:40.0	in my opinion, one of the most important conferences that the world could ever have to be honest with you,
0:47.9	because it gets us to a place where we can unveil more of Jesus. The message of grace is a message
0:56.4	about Jesus Christ. So what is grace? Jesus. So we're not trying to teach just, you know,
1:05.3	doctrinal principles to start an argument. We're trying to show you Jesus, and the Bible in
1:12.0	the book of Luke, Jesus referred to the Old Testament as the Scriptures, and then he told us that
1:18.4	the Scriptures would always speak of himself. And so, you know, somebody asked me one time,
1:24.6	would we read the Old Testament? Heck yeah, because once you understand and put on the glasses
1:31.5	of the New Testament, you can go to Old Testament and learn more about Jesus, and see more about Jesus,
1:38.0	you see. And so this is so important. If I don't know if you're planning on being here with us all
1:42.8	a week, but I know my study for this upcoming conference, I'm not going, I don't, a week's not
1:47.9	going to be enough for me to roll out everything I want to roll out. But blessed God, I can guarantee you
