Well, hello and welcome back to Kindled.

I'm coming to you today with part two of my conversation with Marcia Montenegro on

contemplative spirituality.

So I got a ton of really great feedback from last week's episode. Many of you were not familiar with some of the teachings in this movement.

And even some of you said you had heard these things or were starting to see some of these

authors and teachers popping up in your

small group curriculum through your churches. And so I'm really glad that, you know, it's kind of

helping shed light on just how embedded a lot of these teachings already are in our churches

and how slowly and yet slyly they can seep in.

This is again, as I've mentioned before, what happened in our former church and it just happens so slightly, so almost unnoticeably,

it's almost imperceivable what is going on because as you'll hear me talk about with Marsha in a second, you feel like the one who's out of the know. You feel like the one who maybe could be in the wrong and you're probably just behind the times and there's just some newer and better teaching. And often your leaders are just really pumping these things up and these names up and saying, oh my gosh, you're going to love it. It's really great. We have so much to learn from this person or from these materials.

Dig deeper. It's always couched in so many positive pursuits and positive and well-intentioned

things that sound godly and sound biblical, sound like something any Christian should want.

And if you didn't, like, what's wrong with you?

You know? And so you're really, you're kind of stuck feeling like, am I crazy? I just, no, this doesn't

sound right. This isn't, this does not line up with scripture. This seems to go against it. This seems to
