Hello everybody and welcome back to Red Menace.

So we're finally getting to some texts from the anarchist tradition.

And today we are covering the famous bread book, as it's often called The Conquest of

Bread by Peter Kropotkin, really an essential reading for the anarcho-communist tradition

in general.

Really interesting text.

I've obviously engaged with it in different ways throughout the years, but I've never sat

down and actually worked through it.

There's a lot here to say and to its credit and a lot here to delineate between Marxist

and anarchist thought.

So this will be a fun episode today.

And I also wanted to mention up front before, you know, so we don't forget at the end.

Next month, we're going to do one more anarchist text.

And we think we've agreed on the anti-sive anarchonialist text called The Desert by an anonymous

author.

That might be a fun way to explore a very different strain, if you will, of anarchism

compared to what we're going to be talking about today.

So at the very least, we'll be able to cover two distinct strains within anarchism.

One more historical.

This one is from 1890s, I believe.

And then the desert is much more modern.

And that could be a fun way to wrap up this, this go round at the anarchist text.
