Hello and welcome to Red Minus, my name is Allison and I am here with my co-host Brett.

And as always we are here to dive into yet another text.

We have been recently trying to kind of step out of just covering strictly Marxist texts

to also look at other schools of thought.

We took a detour into kind of reactionary political theory and have now kind of been looking

at anarchism.

We previously covered the work of Kropotkin and today we are turning to a much more contemporary

and modern text which is called Desert.

And this is an anonymously published text so we can't attribute it to anyone individually.

This is a text that has had some popularity over the last 10 years within anarchist circles

especially as a representative sort of post or anti-civilization anarchism or green anarchism.

We'll get a little bit into what those distinctions mean but that's what we're going to be diving

in today.

Before we get into that text I want to go ahead and announce that for our next text we are

going to be making a return to diving into Marxist theory with one that I am super excited about which

is Ingalls origin of the family private property and the state which is obviously an extremely

important text in the development of the Marxist view of gender the Marxist view womanhood

and of family and I think this will be really really useful to dive into so I'm looking forward

to getting into that next year with you all and I think that will be a very enjoyable deep dive.

But for now we'll go ahead and continue on with our exploration of anarchism and this text desert.
