Summary
Death is an unavoidable part of life in the emergency room.
After fifteen years working overnight shifts, Autumn had grown used to the realities of trauma care, loss, and the strange emotional weight that can linger inside a hospital long after a patient is gone.
That's why she wasn't looking for anything paranormal one night while standing at the nurses' station.
But when she glanced into one of the trauma bays, she immediately noticed a man standing there. At least, she thought it was a man.
The figure seemed almost unfinished somehow—visible, but not completely solid. And as he looked around the empty room with a deeply confused expression, Autumn found herself wondering whether she was witnessing exhaustion... or something far harder to explain.

And recovery's been pretty tough. And my old roommate, John, came over. And it was funny because I didn't hear him at the front door. |

| 1:15.8 | So went out and we were sitting on my front porch talking. I lived with John for a long, |
| 1:22.8 | long time. So my dog, Buddy, who I had until he was almost 17, he and I lived with John for the first 14 years of Buddy's life. So Buddy and John were very close. So I've told this story before when Buddy passed out, I got that hummingbird that flew up and was looking at me. |

| 1:47.4 | So John and I are sitting on the front porch and a hummingbird flew up and looked at both of us. |
