Hello, hi and welcome to another episode of The Emmer Gun Show. I'm your host, Emigone

0:11.1

and in this mini show as part of Christmas podding in the December Dailyes, this is where I'm

0:16.3

publishing an episode every day in December 2019. I'm going to talk about music to help you concentrate now,

0:23.0

bear with. On this podcast before, we've talked about music to work out to, and there's no doubt

0:27.9

a good soundtrack can help a workout, can help a workout along a bit. But when we're also time poor,

0:34.7

there are alerts everywhere and our retention spans are getting shorter and shorter

0:38.2

and it's so easy to get distracted. It does actually help I've found very much this year to have a

0:44.4

soundtrack for when you want to get into a zone where you need to really focus for more than a few

1:09.0

attention. I knew something had to give

1:11.5

because I wanted to do my research well and so I tried this out and thankfully it really really worked

1:17.6

because it was becoming that thing of actually trying to sit down and focus was becoming something

1:22.2

that I was struggling with more and more and more and actually it was then causing me an added layer

1:27.2

of stress

1:27.5

and frustration. So what makes a real difference for me is to have a soundtrack. And what I do is

1:32.3

set a timer on my phone or my watch for 30 minutes or an hour and I put on my big can

1:37.4

headphones. So not earbuds, but big over-ear headphones. And I play quite quietly various music.

1:45.2

I started off with the app binaural beats, which plays a rain effect, but also has delta, theta, alpha, beta and gamma sounds.

1:54.5

Now, you're going to be like, uh-huh, well, so in order to just keep it really clear,
