March 5 is where we're going to be today if you have a copy of the scriptures.

If not you can get one on the screen and if you was already referenced today

but if you have your little note we give you a note on the way in because we are sort of implying,

maybe God might speak something to you through his word that you'd want to write down.

And so if you grab your notepad grab your pen grab your Bible I want to read to you a

section of scripture that I invite you to use your imagination.

I always think it's a helpful exercise to read scripture and try and picture it.

And fight hard if you have read this a bunch of times.

Fight hard if you know this story by heart and you know the beats to it,

because otherwise you'll tune out.

Because you'll be like, I it but God's word is always

willing to show you something new to it so long as you are willing and And our willingness comes when we fight

against the curse of knowledge

and the way familiarity sets in,

and we try and picture ourselves hearing it for the first time. And we have that sort of posture of humility, not the one that says,

I already know that, I already got that.

Because empty hands are the only kind of hands that can receive a gift.

So when we read scripture, our posture should be,

I have empty hands, I don't know anything,

give me something new, show me something new.
