About Tavé:

Tavé Fascé Drake is an artistic director, writer, entertainer, and optimist. Having a mother who was diagnosed with MS at an early age informs much of her work, including earlier breeding and training of companion, therapy, and service dogs. She is also the proud mother of two grown daughters, speaks 4+ languages, and has ADHD.

Mirador Magazine is an ad-free, age-appropriate online and print publication for neurodivergent communities. Their growing readership includes those with various stages of dementia and people of all ages recovering from brain trauma such as concussion, TBI or stroke. They also have readers who experience chronic symptoms from autoimmune disease and people with autism and ADHD.

The pages include short features on nature, science, history and the people who make our world wonderful. Mirador Magazine is about making connections within oneself, with others and building community. 0:55.5	Why did you decide to start this really wonderful magazine geared at seniors and those living with dementia?
1:02.9	So I have an aunt who has early onset Alzheimer's. She's in memory care now. But early in her early stages of the illness, I was noticing
1:13.5	that she wasn't really able to read the magazines that she was enjoying reading previously. And through
1:20.9	some time and just sort of watching how she was interacting with certain reading materials,
1:26.4	I noticed that she just wasn't
1:28.7	able to access the small print and sort of the busy pages of magazines or other materials
1:36.0	like menus, for instance, or newspapers or anything that involved a lot of text on a page.
1:42.2	And so I went looking for a periodical, a magazine for people
1:46.8	living with Alzheimer's or dementia, and I couldn't find anything. And so having a magazine
1:53.1	and a writing background, I wanted to start one. And so that's basically the short end of that
