We're in the fall.

There's sports, soccer and football, homecoming.

People are living their lives looking forward to a break from the summer heat.

And it's getting hotter with the safety act coming and violence around the corner.

And people not knowing what's going to be like.

How are we going to handle it with the Democrats pushing the release of dangerous criminals

on the streets and the Republican screaming that this danger is going to impact all.

And the people in the cities and the poor people who are the victims, who are always the

victims, the black and brown people of Chicago, just like there are people who are the offenders

who are also black and brown.

We just don't want to talk about any of it.

All that's going on to make sense of it.
