to be talking about an article that we got a lot of requests to comment on, which was recently in The New Yorker,

and served to bolster the Biden administration against valid criticism of their pandemic response

and basically just discredit people who were calling them out, as well as anyone else who just

casually gives a shit about COVID. But before we get into that piece, just to sort of

set the stage for our tear down of it and its claims, it's important to note that despite what

you might get from portrayals like the one that we're about to talk about today, according to the CDC's

numbers, which we assume are incomplete due to the delayed reporting over the holidays,

10,822 people died in the United States in December alone, 2,500 of them in the last week

of the year as of December 28th.

So the CDC is currently forecasting that throughout January, we should expect deaths to increase,

with weekly death estimates conservatively hitting between 3 expect deaths to increase, with weekly death

estimates conservatively hitting between 3 and 4,000 weekly deaths.

Hospitalizations in the U.S. are also trending up and are forecasted to increase.
