Episode 11, the Casablanca Articles of Convention.

I'm such a sucker for constitutions and declarations of independences.

And so I'm proud to include here my reading of the Casablanca articles of convention.

As I said in the previous episode, this isn't quite a declaration of independence, at least not in the form in which the Anglo-American tradition thinks of declarations of independence.

And it's also not a constitution. The Rio Grande Federalists had a constitution

they were fighting for, a constitution of 1824. But it is a statement of Rio Grande Federalist grievances

and of their motivations. We don't have to take them all at face value, and we should recognize this
