Hello and welcome to Political Thinking.

Who is doing the most to save the planet?

Is it the people who are attaching themselves

to those entries above the M25 or throwing soup

or mashed potato or old masters?

Is it the political leaders and the lobbyists

who've crammed into that resort in Egypt

for the COP27 summit?

Or is it the scientists who are trying to find ways

that we can carry on living our lives

but without catastrophically warming up the planet?

I think it's fair to say that few would add to that list

the leaders of the Green Party,

which to some is a bit of a puzzle

given the increased concern there is

about the environment and climate change.
