My guest this week leads a political party that made a significant breakthrough at the general election.

No, not Nigel Farage. This is

the co-leader of the Greens, Carla Denier, who became the first Green MP for her city of Bristol and one

of four new Green Members of Parliament. Since Polling Day, though, it's been reformed UK that has

soared in the polls. And whether here or in Europe or in the United

States, it does feel as if the sort of liberal ideas which Greens believe in are going a bit

out of fashion with parties on the populist right winning support by attacking net zero or mass

migration or trans rights. Carla Denia, though, is not afraid of a fight. She told me when she was

last on political thinking, she'd been campaigning since she was at school fighting to ensure

that the canteen stocked fair trade chocolate. Carla Denia, welcome to political thinking.

Thanks for having me on. Now, since the last time you were in this studio, you have been celebrating an extraordinary success.

Yeah, that's right.

We've had such an amazing year quadrupled our representation in the House of Commons last July, of course.
