It's April 23rd, 2009, and this is the Candid Frame.

Well, April has been a good month for the show.

I've had the opportunity to interview two legends of photography.

The first was Greg Gorman,

which you heard from in our last episode. And today we have Douglas Kirkland. Sometimes the

photogods just choose to be generous. I've met a lot of photographers of the last three years,

all of which have inspired and enlightened me with both their work and their

words. Today is no different. I count myself especially lucky today because this is actually the

third opportunity that I've had to share time with this wonderful photographer, and each time

he has been amazingly gracious and sincere. You might think that a man with his reputation and career might be aloof or distant,

but Douglas is anything but.

He is as passionate and as in love with what he does as when he first picked up the camera.

I can only hope that when I'm 74, that I'm as creative and prolific as he is.
