Marco has been recognized locally and internationally for his accomplishments in the classroom, creative program building, administering complex budgets, and for the use of technology to empower minority students. Today's guest is Marco Antonio Torres.

And Marco is an old friend of mine back from our college days back at Cal Berkeley.

And Marco is an accomplished photographer, teacher, filmmaker, musician.

He's a man of a jack-of-all-trades, basically.

And he's always been one of those people that I've long admired and respected, not just for the kind of work that he produces, but because

of his desire to share what he knows with others, particularly young people.

And for over 10 years, he was a high school teacher in San Fernando High School, where he started

a real unique program teaching high school students to use photography, filmmaking, musicianship

to communicate and to express things about their own lives and their communities.

And he's been continuing to do this as he travels all over the world.

He's usually on a plane or in a hotel room most, most times of the year, because he's a really

in-demand speaker in terms of speaking about using technology, not just for the sake of

technology, but to be able to use it as a means of expression.

And it's something that we completely agree on.

And it's something that I wanted to talk about for the purpose of the show.

It's not so much a show on photography as some of the other shows have been.
