It's February 11th, 2008, and this is The Candid Frame. Welcome back for another episode of the show.

Today's guest is Everard Williams.

He's a photographer and a friend of mine who have met through my involvement

at the Art Center College of Design up here in Pasadena.

And he's a great guy and a wonderful photographer.

And I've had plenty of conversations along with him and Dennis Keely and Tony DeZeno over why we photograph.

That's one of the things that I've been focusing on over the past several interviews.

And that's the whole idea of why we photograph what's

driving us what what are we responding to every time we pick up the camera i think it's always a

much more interesting conversation to have um try and try and answer that question and it's always

it's amazing what comes up with when you set up two photographers or three photographers together

to sort of mull over what it is that sort of drives us.

And the conversations are always full of surprises.

And I think that there are a few in the 40-minute interview that we conducted with Everard.

And the conversation sort of started mid – well, you'll be hearing it midway through a conversation

that we were having regarding one of his classes in which he's having his students develop

this sort of photographic device that is along the lines of a toy camera, but that his captures

images digitally.

So it's kind of midway into that conversation, so just so you have some sort of context.

But I think overall you'll get where the whole conversation was sort of steering towards.

And I think it's pretty successful.
