Today's episode is one that I think, or I hope, is one that you find to be a really special one.

I have interviewed a lot of photographers and looked at a lot of work, but this is the first piece of work in a while that really moved me.

And when I discovered it and when today's guest agreed to be interviewed for the show,

I was really, really looking forward to it because I thought that it's a work that's

deserving of attention.

And I'm really thrilled that he was gracious enough to spend some time with me,

despite some technical hiccups that we had along the way. The work of Angelo Merendino

is moving because the subject of this personal body of work is his wife who struggled with

breast cancer. And the story of their journey and their struggles with that disease

is documented in his project, The Battle We Didn't Choose, My Wife's Fight with Breast Cancer.
