Over the last five and a half years, I've interviewed a lot of photographers,

and though I've touched on the business end of photography in some of those conversations,

I've not really gotten into detail with it,

but increasingly I'm realizing that it really is an important aspect.

Whether or not you're trying to make it as a professional working full-time photographer or even a part-time photographer,

I know a lot of people are worried

But there's a lot of gray area there that I think it's really kind of important to understand from the point of view of a working photographer. And even though this conversation is just the tip of the iceberg, hopefully it will provide you some things to consider and to think about as you go out there and put your images out on the web and share them on Facebook or try to make a living selling and licensing your images to your clients.
