Summary

On today’s episode, I’m joined by Maggie Berghoff to talk about the health crisis that changed the course of her life. Maggie shares her journey from working as a nurse practitioner to experiencing a mini stroke at just 24, and the frustrating reality of being told by doctors that nothing was wrong despite severe symptoms. We dive into how she took her healing into her own hands, the role coaching and community played in her transformation, and the bold decision to quit her job and start sharing her story online. We also discuss building and scaling a business, hiring the right team, attracting high-ticket clients, and designing a company around your ideal lifestyle. Plus, Maggie opens up about entrepreneurship as a mother, trusting your intuition, and the mindset shifts that make success feel aligned and sustainable. If you’re ready to take control of your health, your business, and your life, this episode is for you. Enjoy!

0:16.7

more? Actually having the resources to make those big dreams happen. And hey, dreams can sometimes

0:22.8

be private jets, but other times, they can look a little something like having the best skin

0:27.9

of your damn life, or starting a successful business, or delving into spirituality. So on this

0:34.6

podcast, I chat with experts and thought leaders from different fields about their

0:38.6

tips and tricks on doing exactly that. So let's get right into it.

0:46.4

So I'm just going to dive right in. Yeah. Okay. So your journey started in traditional medicine.

0:52.9

Yes. Can you walk us through the moment that you realized that the path wasn't right for you?

0:59.0

Like, how was that transition even emotionally and mentally?

1:03.4

And how did you even get to that conclusion?

1:05.3

Yeah.

1:05.6

So I went from traditional medicine.

1:07.2

I was a nurse practitioner.

1:08.5

And I had like a health crash, basically. And my body started

1:12.8

failing me. And I went from doctor to doctor, specialist to specialist. And everybody said,

1:18.0

everything's normal. You're fine. Really? Yeah. I mean, I feel like it's the same story over and

1:23.0

over again. Right. And I'm like bawling my eyes out like, I'm not okay, right? I don't feel well.

1:26.7

And then finally, since it had been a year of that, and finally my body did show signs and symptoms, like on traditional lab tests that did show a bunch of abnormalities. I actually had a mini stroke when I was 24 years old, 23 years old. And so like my body had had enough and then finally did show on traditional labs. So then what was, what were the symptoms that you were experiencing at the beginning where you were going from doctor to doctor? And they were like, nope, it's all good. I could, you know, I remember sitting in class because I was at grad school at the time to be a nurse practitioner. I remember sitting in class and standing up and my whole leg was swollen like down to my ankle. And I had pitting edema where you like press into your skin and it just kind of like stays there. So I had pitting edema. I would wake up tired even though I was sleeping 10 plus hours a night. I would get so dizzy I'd have to pull over on the side of the road thinking I might pass out. No periods. Hair thinning, cold all the time. I mean, a lot of symptoms. So what was going on? What, like, why, why were you in this state? Did you ever figure it out? Everybody wants to know that secret. What's the one thing that happened? And for me, it was just a storm of everything. chronic inflammation that had been building up year after year, decade after decade, really.

2:37.6

And so... that happened. And for me, it was just a storm of everything, chronic inflammation that had been

2:34.3

building up year after year, decade after decade, really. And so gut hormone issues were my big root
