Summary

There are caches of wildfire hidden in the city of King’s Landing just waiting to go off. The inevitable violence between the factions still vying for the Iron Throne could ignite them and cause untold damage, perhaps destroying the entire city.  Will the Mad King get his revenge after all? If so, who will set them off, and why?

The The Over the many years we've spent analyzing these books, we've gotten pretty good at identifying foreshadowing, and you all have grown in that skill with us,

0:57.0

especially those of you who have been with us for a long time and or have been in the fandom with an active mind for the long term.

1:04.5

Yet, arguably, it doesn't take a whole lot of skill at catching clues for the future of a song of ice and fire

1:11.6

when it comes to the notion that King's Landing will burn. In some former fashion, if not multiple

1:18.4

forms and fashions, it has been foreshadowed. Whether it's Cersy's current obsession with wildfire

1:25.2

or Aries's past obsession with it, the danger remains as caches are still

1:31.1

sitting there like time bombs in unknown locations. And I don't mean unknown to all but a select few.

1:37.5

No, I mean truly unknown. There's only one person who might know a little about the hidden caches,

1:42.2

and I doubt they know it all, even if they know anything.

1:45.0

And without knowing at all, well, you can't stop the problem from happening.

1:50.0

Only one cache is required to do massive damage, and if there's a few,

1:53.0

well, the damage is like exponential from there,

1:56.0

because one sets off another, sets off another, sets off another,

1:59.0

sets off another, etc off another, sets off another, et cetera, that kind of thing. So it's really not just a times two, times three, it's a times 10, times 50, times a hundred

2:06.3

times thing, type thing.

2:08.7

I'm not even talking about the TV show, not just because what happened on the TV show

2:12.7

isn't foreshadowing, that's just a whole different set of events that might correlate.

2:16.9

And also not just because several important and highly involved characters and plotlines

2:21.4

were missing from the TV version like Agon and John Connington and John Connington having

2:26.7

grayscale. These are all important to us today. Meanwhile, HBO did have the Great Sept

2:32.1

explode via wildfire, but that wildfire didn't even spread.

2:36.8

It just was this cool explosion, but there was no like follow-up to that.
