Born between 1954 and 1958, the Briley brothers were raised along with two younger brothers

in Richmond, Virginia, and were known by their neighbors as young men who would often help

out with car repairs or mose someone's lawn.

They were also known for their collection of exotic animals.

When the boys were just teenagers, their mother and father separated,

and Bertha Briley moved away, thus shattering what was previously described as a stable household.

She left her sons in the care of their father,

whose sources say was the only person the brothers respected.
