Summary

Huge thanks to this week's sponsor: Dead Happy. Use our code MURDER for 3 months FREE life insurance!

This week, Tom and Ben explore the chilling case of “The Brain Eater” Robert Maudsley.

Maudsley is widely regarded as “Britain’s Most Dangerous Prisoner” and currently holds the record for the most time spent consecutively in solitary confinement. Though, surprisingly, he entered the British prison system having committed only one murder - with many of the public sympathising with him and claiming they he is the true victim.

How did Maudsley become “Britain’s Most Dangerous Prisoner”? Was Maudsley’s volatile childhood to blame for his later actions? Did the prison services fail Maudsley or was he able to manipulate the system? Are the rumours of “The Brain Eater” true? And why is Maudsley kept in solitary for 23 hours a day within a custom-built glass prison cell?

Tune in and all will be revealed!

I wanted to say a huge thank you to Ben and producer Dan and Bonsi for running the ship whilst I was gone, giving me much needed time with my family. I also wanted to say a huge thanks to you guys, the ICMAP family, for all the lovely comments and all the messages

No other type of person, no other type of offender.

So my past crimes strongly suggest that this is the group most unsullied risk.

1:40.3

Why is this?

1:42.3

I can say that yes, I have been raped and yes, I have been sexually abused by such

people, and consequently I do detest these people enough to have killed them. Are we all not products of

our environment? Do we all not form our opinions, beliefs, etc., from how we perceive that environment?

2:03.6

We feel prison authorities perceive me as a problem. There's a solution to that problem to date has been an effect to bury me alive.
