The Blue Sox, that's the nothing personal word of the day. It is Monday, April 6th,

2026. The Blue Sox are the story of the first nine or 10 days of the Major League Baseball season

because they've got the worst record in Major League Baseball.

And I spent the entire weekend thinking to myself,

do I want to start positively?

We could talk about the Yankees and the Brewers and the Dodgers

with the three best records in baseball at 7 and two. But the way I'm feeling and the

way people generally like to engage is with the negative. What a terrible, terrible way to be

that I'm adding to. But man, the Red Sox stink. And it's not just that they're the only team

to have not won three games yet

this year. That, of course, would be bad enough. It's not just that they've lost each of their

series, obviously, to start the season to the Reds, Astros, and Padres. That isn't enough. It's not

just that their entire lineup is full other than

willier-a-braeu. No one else can hit. It's not enough that Ron Herr Suarez changed the way

we pronounce his name and somehow we can't get anyone out at all. That's not enough. What's enough in the reason

why the Red Sox kept my attention is that the expectation of that team is the same as the

expectation of about 12 other teams in baseball.

And it is so early in the season that whether you are at 2 and 7 or 7 and 2,

I cannot express to you how irrelevant it is.

There is no way for you to fully agree with how irrelevant, I believe, any record is from

0.7, which the Braves were last year, other than the amazing stat that no one goes from
