You know, it's always fun to have a religious film in the series, and in today's film, we ponder the question of, can you be a sinner and a saint?

Howdy? I'm Jeff Goldsmith, and this is the Q&A. My agenda is simple. Each week I plan to bring you in-depth insight into the creative process of storytelling. a hot minute, but if you could believe it, the Boondock Saints is having its 25th anniversary

and is being re-released into theaters, which is kind of almost like a first release,

considering that it didn't exactly get much of a release, but we'll talk about that later.

And to celebrate the 25th anniversary, today we are chatting with writer and director

Troy Duffy.

I think the fun of today's episode is we get into a lot of

old-timey Hollywood from 1999 and the 90s in general, really. And I think the fun thing about

this episode for me was that I tangentially got to hear the stories of this film unfolding on

the side and even experienced Troy Duffy shooting something as well. So there's a lot to talk about.

It got cut off at one point because Troy and I were talking before I press the record

button, of course.

And it turns out, I think it's clear in the episode, but just in case it isn't, one of

my college roommates at USC was Ramses Isok.

He went to William Morris after school and he was in the mailroom.

And basically, as he was graduating the mailroom and becoming a junior agent,

he was on Troy Duffy's team at William Morris. And so as the stories got wild from the making of the

film and getting the financing and having things go haywire, Rameses was kind of cluing me in and he was

really supportive of Troy. You know, he loved the script and he was working on

Troy's team to get development deals for Troy and stuff like that. And we even talk about a script

today that Troy hadn't thought about in a long time that I remember reading that was really

cool that he's going to hopefully look back into seeing if he could do anything with. Because
