Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people, the Word of God.

We base our ministry on Hebrews 412 that tells us that the Word is alive and active.

We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God is going to

speak through it. Thank you so much for giving us this privilege. Go with me to Luke chapter 24,

verse 44. Then He Jesus said to them, these are my words that I spoke to you while I was still

with you, that everything written about me and the law of Moses, everybody

say law of Moses, and the prophets, everybody say in the prophets, and the Psalms say that,

must be fulfilled. Then he opened their minds to understand the scriptures and said to them,

this is written that the Christ should suffer and on the third

day rise from the dead and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed

in his name to all nations beginning from Jerusalem. You are witnesses of these things.

And behold, I am sending you the promise of my father upon you. You stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.

A number of scholars and commentators think that he is probably even referring somewhat of that Elijah's cloak that falls from the sky for Elijah.

That there's some of that that is being portrayed symbolically

in the coming of the spirit, that it is literally the coming of that portion of the spirit

on us from he who is the only begotten of the Father. Now here's where we're going. Verse 50. Then he,

that's Jesus, led them out as far as Bethany. And do you see that?

What does he do next?

Somebody tell me?

Lifting up his hands, he blessed them.

While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven.
