Our hope is that the message in these miracles

will become real in your life. Christ is enough. Let's open our Bibles and join the study now. Do you believe that Jesus can bring a blessing out of a curse?

Do you believe he can bring life out of death, good out of bad?

We've come today to the record of Jesus cursing the fig tree.

Literally, he speaks to a fig tree and it withers away.

You know, the Lord has the ability to both create and to destroy, to build up and to tear down.

And in this particular instance, instead of causing the tree to flourish, it causes it to wither. Now, we find this record

in Matthew and in Mark's account, but Marx is really the most thorough, and it leads us to a

great truth, Jesus, one of the disciples and us to know. It literally brings much blessing out of

this curse. So look with me today in Mark chapter number 11 at this miracle of destruction that Jesus

performs.

Mark 11 beginning in verse 12 says,

and on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry.

Remember, our Lord was all man.

And so he has the same appetites and needs that all of us have.

Verse 13,

and seeing a fig tree of far off having leaves,

he came if happily he might find anything thereon.

And when he came to it, he found nothing but leaves.

For the time of figs was not yet.
