Welcome back to another edition of the BKMC, which is a supplemental PSO podcast that we do every week,

although we didn't do our regular PSO podcast this week, but it'll be back next week.

This week, we are taking a look at the,

at Vim Vendor, Director Vim Vendor's Art House Classic from

1987, Wings of Desire.

And typical of all of our BKMC pods, it'll be attached to a review of the film

with trivia and videos and pictures and stuff like that.

It's just a discussion. We call it a movie club because we want it to follow the lines of a book club where we all agree to watch the same thing and then we all talk about it.

I did not have this film on my initial list for the BKMC, but that is because I did not realize that it was available on HBO, HBO Max.

And I'm going to come right out and say, it's in my top three. It might even be my number one of all time.

I think that's number one. That's your number one movie. I think it is my number one movie.

And what's interesting to me about it is, and I want to unpack a little bit of that when we talk

about this, is I had not seen it for many, many years. And that was partially deliberate.

We're going to dive into the themes and all of this, but I just want to say that this film I saw as a very young film student, and I did not understand the world because I was a student, and it rewired my brain.

And as such, I did not want to revisit this film too often.

I wanted it to sit in perfection in my memory, and I have seen it many times over the years,

but I saw it last month, and it was honestly the first time I had seen it in over 10 years,

probably closer to 20.
