Today we're going to be playing my interview with Alex Lachamore, who's won Tony's and Emmys and Grammys.

He's a musical director for Broadway shows who's worked on a bunch of things.

He worked on Dear Evan Hansen, he worked on In The Heights.

But the subject mostly at hand today is that he was the musical director for Hamilton, which is very much back on everyone's mind thanks to the Disney Plus movie version with the original cast.

streaming after watching the show. So it seemed like a great time to talk to Alex.

So I thought I would take you back to the very beginning.

Even before your first meeting with Lin Manuel Miranda,

And I got a call from Kevin McCollum, a producer who I had met on a show that I was working

on called Bat Boy the Musical.

And Kevin called me up and said, hey, I know this composer.

And he plays piano a little bit, but not enough to really flush out his songs.
