at Buffalo's North Campus.

They lined up near alumni arena, each with a number pinned to their chest.

It had become an annual tradition, the Linda-Yaylam safety run, a 5K memorial race.

The event was a fitting way to honor the 22-year-old UB student and jogger who had been assaulted

and murdered on this day six years earlier.
