So you've been working on this for months and we're going to get to it.

But how the heck did you come to recognize that we need a third party in the United States?

You actually put it on your law school application a million years ago.

Yeah, way back in the day, I got into some fights with some Democratic speakers at undergrad

about third parties being necessary for the country.

And it started from a different place than where I'm at with it now.

It started very much from an ideological place.

I was very much a lefty in high school and college.

Democratic Party was to the right of where my personal politics were at the time.

And so the initial view was we needed a third party for me because I didn't fit in the

Democrats.

I thought that they were too centrist, too moderate and all of that.

That has largely not been something that I have believed for probably like six or seven

years at this point.
