And today we're going to be talking about the greatest misconception about sabotage.

0:08.5

Now, this is one of those things that as I learned this over time, really shifted my perspective and actually helped me to stop sabotaging.

0:17.6

And I sabotaged a lot in my life. I feel like I practiced every form of sabotage,

0:24.8

whether it was unhealthy relationships, staying up late, you know, not doing the work, making

0:31.7

excuses, falling into patterns of watching porn when I didn't want to or drinking too much or drugs

0:40.4

or whatever it is, right? Just, I mean, I really tried the gamut of sabotaging mechanisms.

0:45.5

So I speak both from personal experience and professional here. One of the things that I think is

0:50.7

the greatest misconception of sabotage is that you are sabotaging to feel

0:56.8

out of control, to be out of control, to let go of responsibility or your power or what have

1:04.5

you. And that's the misconception. That's the falsity. That's the lie. The truth about sabotage that most people don't know

1:14.8

or don't want to admit is that it is known. You're not sabotaging to be out of control.

1:21.8

Sabotage is the ultimate form of control. It's where most people feel the most in control, right? So think about when

1:31.4

you're sabotaging, whether it's you hitting the alarm first in the morning seven times before

1:36.8

getting up and not going to the gym, whether it's texting somebody that you know you shouldn't

1:40.5

be texting or watching porn when you said you haven't wanted to watch it or however you sabotage, right, drinking too much late at night and, and, you know,

1:48.4

shitting the bed the next morning in a meeting, not actually shitting the bed, you know what I mean,

1:52.2

metaphorically.

1:53.2

That sabotage is you being in control and you're doing that.

1:59.9

I was doing that in my own life because that's what

2:03.3

felt comfortable, right? Sabotage for most people is comfortable. It is known. We know what it looks
