We discuss breaking our own rules, letting other people's opinions influence our relationship, how Case went from not ready for a relationship to ready, why men remember compliments, the best way to slide into a guy's DMs, Karpman's drama triangle, why we need to tell our partner what we want, how to not take rejection personally and more. This episode starts with a solo where I discuss how I got close with my in-laws, daily habits living with a partner, the pain you feel when you end it with an amazing guy who isn't right for you, and money in relationships.

Case Kenny who has got all the wisdom and also may just say that it's been tough finding

0:19.9

great straight men to represent the community well. As you know, if you've been listening,

0:28.0

it's been tough, but Case is awesome. And I really think that he breaks the molds here and

0:35.2

really represents the straight male tribe well. So thank you Case for that. And I'm excited

0:42.0

for you to hear what he has to say before we get into that. I'm going to answer a few of your

0:45.9

questions. And then we'll get right into it. It was my birthday this week. It's actually

0:51.2

not my birthday yet as I record this, but I'd like to tell you that I had a really nice birthday.

0:58.8

1:02.7

Assuming you wish me a happy birthday. God, I'm really assuming left and right right now.

1:07.2

If you didn't, that's okay. You still can. No, you really don't have to. But it's so crazy. Like

1:13.6

every year when it gets close to my birthday. And I'm a planner. So if you're a planner out there,

1:20.5

and you who resonate with this, I'm like, why am I the one that has to do something for my birthday?

1:27.1

Why can other people surprise me? Why did it have to be me? And this is just, this is what we deal

1:33.3

with as a planner. So like, first of all, I need to get over myself because if I didn't plan,

1:39.1

then maybe something would happen. But I have to plan. Part of me planning is because I'm like,

1:44.4

I need something to fall back on. If nobody pulls through, like if nobody surprises me,

1:50.4

and obviously it's not the case, obviously my husband is wonderful. And he has things up his sleeve.

1:55.3

But I still need to plan. And in addition to wanting to plan, I turn 32. And I'm like, you know what?

2:02.6

I, maybe I thought all these things when I was 32. Maybe I thought I would be in a place where I

2:10.1

wasn't. Instead of appreciating all of the amazing things that are in my life, you know, being
