Summary

On today’s episode, I sit down with Dr. Annabelle Seife, Ph.D., Couples Therapist + Founder of ‘Before the Leap’. We discuss how much fighting is healthy vs. ideal, how to properly deal with your in-laws, skills you need to take into your marriage, avoiding spiraling once a fight starts, how to know what pace to go at, interfaith relationships, getting in depth about parenting styles, all the topics that need to be discussed before the leap, and more. This episode starts with a solo where I discuss identity crisis in relationships, verbiage to nudge for engagement, how to say no to a friend's wedding, being more confident in your 30's, how long is too long to have a FWB, balancing time with SO and friends when you don't live together, practical sex advice, and the pros and cons of dating someone who "isn't your type.”

Hey guys, welcome back to We Men at Acme. I am coming off of a plane basically. I was in Portugal

0:12.6

for 48 hours for a friend's wedding, but it was phenomenal, so gorgeous. The couple is just so

0:20.1

warm and I can't explain to you how much it means to me as a guest attending a wedding,

0:25.3

when the couple tells you how much they appreciate you and how much they love you. It just makes

0:31.5

you feel so good about making the trip and it's something that I did at my wedding, like probably

0:36.3

too much and honestly annoyingly. I went up to every single person at a certain point in the night

0:41.7

and was like, I'm so appreciative of you being here. Like, I love you so much. Like, I hope you

0:46.1

know how much I love you. And it was like it was oozing out of me because I was just seeing everybody

0:51.1

looking around and being so grateful that they were there. And so if you're going to a wedding,

0:56.5

if you're having a wedding in the future, just a note to do that if you feel that because it makes

1:02.5

the guests so happy and I was so grateful that the couple was so appreciative of us being there

1:08.6

this weekend. It was really so lovely and we had such a great time. If you are having a bad day

1:15.0

because Mercury is retrograde, similar to me and a lot of the days that I've had in the past few

1:20.7

weeks, I hope this will turn your day around or at least give you a smile because I am about to,

1:27.9

oh boy, do I have a story for you and that story is something happened to me this week. That

1:35.8

hasn't happened to me in maybe 10 years if not longer. Something that many people think they're

1:43.3

above, myself included, but turns out we're not, we're not above it. I was on my way to the grocery

1:51.0

store on Monday, going to pick up some groceries and I thought that I had to fart. And I was like,

2:01.7

okay, I'll just go for it. And unbeknownst to me, it was not a fart. I sharded. I literally

2:12.3

sharded guys. It was so horrific. I was freaking out. I was literally right next to the grocery store

2:21.3

also and I, it was a trek to the grocery store. So it wasn't like I was closer to my parents
