I'd like to discuss some really key points about when to take

0:04.4

probiotics or even consuming probiotic foods because how those microbes going to survive

0:09.6

strong stomach acid in your stomach. So do they survive the stomach at all? That's the topic

0:15.6

of today. Now there's a couple things you need to know about microbes. Microbes literally

0:20.4

run the world. They convert carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, and sulfur to available forms that plants

0:29.0

and animals can use that all life forms can use. I mean, even photosynthesis, right? Everyone

0:34.4

thinks that the plant is responsible for most of the photosynthesis where they're converting

0:38.7

light and air and water into these biochemicals and fuel. But do you know that the microbes contribute

0:44.5

to photosynthesis the most? So you have microbes in the soil, you have microbes in the roots,

0:49.9

you have microbes in the plants, you have microbes in animals, you have microbes in and on our bodies.

0:55.6

In fact, there are 10X more microbes living inside and on our bodies than ourselves. And so our

1:03.6

bodies are mostly composed of microbes and all plants and animals have a very close important

1:09.6

relationship in that they help make nutrients available. They provide immune protection. They

1:15.5

protect against pathogens. They help you detoxify. They help you digest food. They help make vitamins.

1:22.5

They help digest things that you can't digest like fiber. Some medications are also made for microbes

1:28.8

like antibiotics. They're made for microbes. And as a side note, anytime you take an antibiotic

1:35.0

always at the same time take a probiotic just to prevent a candida infection because it's the

1:41.5

microbes that keep this candida in check. And when you take an antibiotic, it might kill off a good

1:48.1

portion of those microbes, but the ones that don't die become now resistant to the microbes and

1:54.2

they become stronger and harder to kill. This is why it's not a good idea to take a lot of antibiotics.

And then we have fermented foods, right? All the foods that you probably love, you have breads,

2:04.2

chocolate, cheese, beer, wine, sourdough bread, pizza crust, anything that's fermented comes from
