Summary

Today we’re going to talk about the best time of day to take vitamins. These results can vary from person to person, so overall, you’ll have to test things out and see what works best for you and your schedule. You’ll still notice plenty of benefits however you choose to take your vitamins.

There are two types of vitamins: water-soluble vitamins and fat-soluble vitamins. Fat-soluble vitamins can be absorbed better if taken with fat or before a meal. But, if you’re fasting, you can take vitamins whenever.

Cod liver oil:

Cod liver oil is a great source of fat-soluble vitamins, and you can consume cod liver oil anytime. However, it may be best not to take it right before bed.

Vitamin E:

Vitamin E should be taken in the form of tocotrienols and is great to take with meals.

Phytonutrients:

Many phytonutrients are fat soluble, and this is why it’s great to have olive oil on your salad because it will help extract more phytonutrients. Take phytonutrient supplements and wheatgrass juice with a meal for better extraction.

Betaine hydrochloride:

Betaine hydrochloride should be taken right before a meal.

Digestive enzymes:

Digestive enzymes should be taken before a meal.

Bile salts or products with bile:

Bile salts can be better taken right after a meal.

What to take on an empty stomach:

• TUDCA

• Activated charcoal

• Bentonite clay

• Individual amino acids

• Trace minerals

What to take before bed:

• Calcium

• Magnesium

• Probiotics

• Vitamin D3

• Vitamin B1

• Detox herbs

• Apple cider vinegar

What to take in the morning

• Electrolyte powder

• Vitamin B12

• Stimulatory herbs

Let's talk about something really practical when to take your vitamins.

Should you take them before bed, with a meal, an empty stomach, and the morning?

0:07.8

Now, I'm going to discuss this, but I will say I've been known to be wrong about this topic.

0:13.8

Sometimes I'll tell people to take vitamins before bed and all of a sudden it wakes them up.

0:17.3

On the other hand, I'll tell people to take vitamins in the morning and it puts them to sleep.

0:20.4

Now, that's rare, but it could happen, so you're going to have to test things out.

0:24.4

So I'm going to give you some general tips to follow. It's not absolute,

0:28.4

but I think it could be helpful in just increasing the absorption and the effectiveness of these

0:33.3

remedies. There's two types of vitamins. You have the water soluble and the fat soluble vitamins.

0:38.3

So, fat soluble vitamins absorb a little bit better if you take them with fat.

0:44.0

So, if you took fat soluble vitamins before a meal, for example,

0:48.7

can't just say they're going to be absorbed a little bit better.

0:51.4

But a lot of fat soluble vitamins come with their own fat. They come with either MCT oil,

0:57.0

or sometimes they'll come with a little olive oil. But not always. But that being said,

1:01.6

let's say you're doing fasting and you're not eating for several days.

1:06.8

Just take the vitamins whenever you can because you're going to absorb a good amount.

1:11.9

But the taking some fat with a vitamin just helps the absorption a little bit better.

1:16.7

So that would include vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin E, vitamin K1 and K2.

1:23.2

Now, most people don't take vitamin A, but they take calvative oil to get vitamin A, D,

and omega-3 fatty acids because all three of those nutrients can be better absorbed with oil.

1:36.6

But here's the thing. Calvative oil is not a vitamin. It contains vitamins in an oil omega-3 fatty

1:42.6

acid. And so, vitamin A and vitamin D are going to be absorbed. So you could realistically take calvative
