Humans, welcome to a very special episode of Improved for Humans, the meta episode, the best of all the meta scenes.

Now what is meta? That means comedy when it gets self-referential, when it gets a little inside baseball,

when the jokes become about not characters, but about me, Matt Besser,

an earwolf, an improv for humans, the actual show, an imbret, and the interns, and an improv itself,

the form of improv, and all the words we use, and methods, and all our bullshit slang,

and postmodern bullshit, and usually I hate it when I'm coaching our director, I see a meta scene,

I'm like, you're not good enough to do a meta scene, but every once in a while a meta scene will pop its ugly head out and be pretty funny.

So let's enjoy this meta, the best of meta, we got Andy Daley coming out strong, calling out John Mayer,

and one we got a lot of Zach Woods in this episode, a lot of Ben Schwartz, I put him in a confrontation corner,

perhaps my favorite one, him in a Don Cheetle, no less. Jessica St. Clair makes an appearance in this volume one, best of meta, and volume two.

Mary Holland doing a hilarious character, which I would call the improv hating girlfriend,

and I think the main lesson that we always seem to learn when we have musical guests on the show is beautiful as the music is,

we can make the improv as ugly. So please enjoy the best of meta, volume one.
