Here's the question.

A couple recently moved to our town and invited us to dinner.

They cooked a delicious meal and we brought wine and bread.

Afterward they casually said they would venmoise for the groceries they'd bought.

We felt this was unfair and it was not discussed beforehand.

How do we handle this awkward situation?

So you got done with the meal and they're basically saying so that steak was that cost us $25.

And the corn was about a buck 50 CO is 27.

How ever inviting them for dinner?
