Our first stop on our journey with Jesus through the gospel according to Mark is in Mark

chapter one and verse number one where we read the beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the son of God.

I was meditating on this verse, and it dawned on me that Mark begins, much like John begins.

says, we're going to begin here with the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. I can't think of a

better way to begin our journey than with the message of the good news.

Remember, that's why Jesus came.

Mark, interestingly enough, omits the genealogy of Christ because, in many ways, it was not

normal to give a servant's genealogy.

And Mark's gospel record presents the Lord Jesus Christ to us as the servant, the one who came not to be ministered unto, but to minister.
